Di Ethylene Glycol is a by-product in the manufacture of Mono-ethylene glycol produced by EO hydrolysis. Di Ethylene glycol is a colourless liquid with a high boiling point. Di-Ethylene Glycol is practically odourless and sweetish to taste. It is considerably hygroscopic in nature. Di-Ethylene Glycol is miscible with water, alcohol, ether, acetone but is insoluble in benzene and carbon tetrachloride.
Di-Ethylene Glycol is used in Unsaturated Polyester Resins, Coolants, Pesticides, Rubber Compounding, Plasticizer, Polyurethane Foams, Textile Auxiliaries, Polyethylene Glycols, Paints etc.

Additional Information
Di-Ethylene Glycol can be transported in Epoxy coated MS tankers. It can be stored in MS containers lined with baked phenolic resin / air drying epoxy phenolic resin or vinyl resin. It is advisable to store Di-Ethylene Glycol in a cool, dry place with good ventilation - away from heat, sparks or flames. -
